How The Derby Den Started
Our Story
Ten years ago, we inherited a time-honored tradition—and a physical track—from my husband’s dad. He’d been operating Pinewood Derby races at our church for years, bringing families together through friendly competition. When he handed over the reins (and the actual racing track) to us, we continued that legacy for the past decade, we’ve hosted countless church derbies—where creativity meets community, and every child gets to build, race, and celebrate.
What is our next Step you may ask?
We are continuing his legacy but with our own flair. We are officially launching The Derby Den (2025), carrying forward his legacy with renewed energy and purpose.
Now, as we look toward the future, we’re expanding beyond church walls. We’re welcoming schools, scout troops, community centers—and families everywhere—to experience the joy of derby together.
